- About Manolin:
Manuel González Hernández comes from a musical family. He studied medicine in Havana until 1992, but later decided on a musical career.
He was influenced by, among other groups like Irakere and their bandleader Chucho Valdez. He joined initially as a singer in the group NG La Banda and worked as a songwriter for bands like Bamboleo, NG la Banda and Charanga Habanera. In the late 1990s Manolín had his first success in the Cuban charts. With the song "La Bola" received Manolín, El Medico de la Salsa the price "El Cubano del Artista 1996".
The album "De Buena Fe" in 1997 was devoted mainly to the exiled Cubans in Miami and the passage, "Mommy, hay que vivir para ver, los tiempos Cambian, tu vas a ver .. ya tengo amigos en Miami"  was censored in Cuba. His fourth album "Jaque Mate" was for two years by the Cuban government is not authorized for sale.  Manolín had toured in the U.S. and Europe and met with great salsa artists such as Celia Cruz, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Oscar D'Leon , Tito Puente, Arturo Sandoval, El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico and other on. His band performed at many events, such as the La Tropical and El Palacio de la Salsa in Cuba, the University of Brussels, Club "El Barrio" in Berlin , Sabor Latino in Turin, Paladio in Rome, Apolo and Cafe Mercado in Barcelona, El Cubanito in Zurich and in La Coupoule in Paris.
From his former band members were solo artists like Tomasito Cruz, Angel "Pututi II" Arce, Reinier Guerra, Eduardo "Chaka" Napoles and Luis Bu.  Manolín now lives with his family in Miami, Florida, after he emigrated from Cuba in 2001.
One of his great musical accomplishments include songs such as "Tal como soy", "Quien Eres Tú "," Qué has hecho de Mí "," Una Aventura Loca "," Esperanza "," Dime qué Hago "," Giro Total "," Qué está Pasando. Que Pasa Nada no, "" Lo que tu no Sabes " , "Jugamos al Amor" and "La Vida no es Tan Tan".

La Escuela, con sus campos deportivos, ocupa un terreno de 80 hectáreas, y está separada de las vías que la rodean por una extensa faja de jardines.
En 1972 se inició el proyecto y construcción, bajo la dirección del arquitecto Andrés Garrudo. Con la matrícula de las Escuelas Vocacionales de Vento y Raúl Cepero Bonilla - 3 mil 200 alumnos en total - se nutrió la Escuela Lenin en el curso 1972-73,
la cuál fué terminada en solo dos años por el empuje de arquitectos y constructores, de trabajadores y alumnos del centro.
